Mary Lou 's Story
Life
Born January 12, 1956 in Washington D.C. And lived in Loudoun County for more than 33 years. I lived in Aldie Va and seemed to know everyone. I was out going and still am to this day. Even at 52 , I still love to do all the things I always have, just a little slower. LOL~~~~~ I will go mudding on a 4 wheeler in a heart beat, just say the word! I'm a wife and a mother of four, two son's Chris & Cory and two step daughter's Angie & Stephanie that I think of as my own. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~And the Grandmother of three beautiful Grand children Ashley Marie, Sebastian Lee, and Hayden Marie . I'm very proud of them all. They are truly my reason for life.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I also am a breast cancer survivor. I was diagnosed September of 2005. I had chemo and radiation. I now have my life back, and am thankful to be "Above Ground" . ~~~~~~~~~~~~~I'm not the same as I was before the breast cancer. It has forever changed my life as I knew it. I just have to look at it as my "new normal". It is all part of the journey.~~~~~~~~~~~And it is something that sadly only a "BC Sister" would ever truly understand~~~~ I was very lucky to have my...Expand for more
wonderful husband Michael during this very dark place in my life. He took such great care of me. I would never be able to repay him if I could live another hundred years. ~~~~~~~~~God always knows what you need and when you need it, and he showed me this through Michael's love. I will forever be blessed by this man. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 2005 was a very hard year for our family, I lost my daddy, Calvin Swart and 6 months later came my news of Cancer. But December 11, 2006 Sebastian was born and we were blessed and ready to begin another chapter in our lives.~~~~~~~~~~ I really couldn't ask for more in my life, I seem to have it all :) ~~~~~~I now live near Va Tech in S.W. Virginia. I live at the foothills of the mountains. It is truly breathtaking here. I have come home over the years to Loudoun, and I must say it just doesn't have the same charm as it once did. ~~~~~~~~And it seems so sad. Breaks my heart to see it grow up as it has. Gilbert's corner is one I can think of.... Where 15 and 50 cross. I just hope 15 stays as it has and that Oakland's is always the same. When that is gone it will all be over for us "Oldies"
